Fresh oranges cut in half, a natural source of vitamin C

Immune Shield is our vitamin C drip in Krabi for travellers who want to look after themselves on a busy trip. Long flights, late nights, sun and new food all take something out of you. This drip gives you fluids, high-dose vitamin C, zinc and B vitamins in one sitting.

A registered nurse gives every drip, at our Ao Nang clinic or at your hotel, villa or bungalow within our area.

Who an immune booster IV in Ao Nang suits

Immune Shield is designed for healthy adults. Guests usually choose it when they:

  • Have just arrived after a long-haul flight and feel run down
  • Are travelling for several weeks and want some extra nutritional support
  • Feel tired after a few big days of diving, island hopping or climbing
  • Are recovering from a minor cold and want fluids and vitamins while they rest

It’s a support drip, not a treatment for infection. Vitamin C and zinc play a part in normal immune function, but no drip can stop you catching a cold, flu or a stomach bug. Cleveland Clinic notes that vitamin C, zinc and B vitamins are the nutrients most often included in these drips, and that IV therapy is not a substitute for prescribed medicine or a healthy diet.

What’s in our vitamin C drip in Krabi

Each Immune Shield drip contains:

  • High-dose vitamin C: the main ingredient, given in a hydrating base
  • Zinc: a mineral involved in normal immune function
  • B-complex vitamins: often run low when you’re travelling, eating irregularly or drinking more than usual
  • Glutathione push: an antioxidant given at the end of the drip

The drip takes about 45 minutes. Before anything starts, the nurse runs a short health screening and may adjust the formula to suit you.

What to expect

The nurse checks your blood pressure and pulse, then places a small sterile, single-use cannula in your arm. You relax while the drip runs; some people notice a cool feeling in the arm or a faint vitamin taste. At the end the nurse gives the glutathione push, removes the cannula and puts on a plaster.

Most guests feel refreshed afterwards, though how much difference you notice varies. You can carry on with your day straight away.

Clinic or hotel visit

You get the same drip either way. Come to the clinic if you’re out and about, or book one of our IV drip hotel visits in Krabi and the nurse comes to your room.

Just landed? Jet Lag Reset, built around hydration, B12 and magnesium, may suit you better if tiredness is the main problem. Compare both on our drip menu. The price and duration of Immune Shield are shown on this page.

Who shouldn’t have Immune Shield

High-dose vitamin C isn’t right for everyone. The nurse will decline or adjust the drip if you:

  • Have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones
  • Have G6PD deficiency, or aren’t sure and have had problems with certain medicines before
  • Have heart disease or high blood pressure that isn’t well controlled
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have iron overload (haemochromatosis)
  • Take medicines that could interact with the ingredients

Cleveland Clinic lists heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease and pregnancy as reasons to avoid IV vitamin therapy. If you’re unsure, message us before you book and we’ll talk it through.

When to go to hospital instead

Immune Shield is for feeling run down, not for being properly ill. Go to hospital, or call 1669 for an ambulance, if you have:

  • A high fever, especially with a rash, severe headache or stiff neck
  • Difficulty breathing or chest pain
  • Confusion, fainting or severe weakness
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea that stops you keeping fluids down
  • A fever after a mosquito bite, a rash, or bleeding gums

The nearest hospitals are Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang, Bangkok Hospital Krabi and Krabi Hospital (government).

Frequently asked questions

Will a vitamin C drip stop me getting ill on holiday?

No. A drip supports normal immune function, but it can’t prevent infection. Sleep, clean water and hand washing still do most of the work.

How is this different from taking vitamin C tablets?

A drip delivers a higher dose straight into your bloodstream, along with fluids. Tablets are cheaper and fine for everyday use.

Can I have Immune Shield with another drip?

One drip per visit is usually enough. After screening, the nurse may suggest a different drip or adjust the formula.

Can I book a drip for the day I arrive in Krabi?

Yes. Use the booking form or message us on WhatsApp with your hotel and arrival time, and we’ll suggest a slot that leaves you time to settle in first.
