The Myers’ Cocktail is one of the best-known vitamin drips in the world, and our Myers’ Cocktail in Krabi follows the classic recipe: magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C in a hydrating base. Guests often book it mid-trip, when the heat, activity and travel start to catch up with them.
A registered nurse gives every drip, at our Ao Nang clinic or at your hotel, villa or bungalow. It takes about 45 minutes.
What is a Myers’ Cocktail?
The drip is named after the late Dr John Myers, a physician in Baltimore, USA, who gave IV vitamin and mineral mixtures to his patients for many years. After his death, other doctors carried on using and adapting his formula, and “Myers’ Cocktail” became the general name for this kind of drip.

Today it’s offered in clinics around the world, including as a Myers’ Cocktail IV in Thailand’s main holiday areas. Recipes vary from clinic to clinic, so it’s always worth asking exactly what’s in the bag.
What’s in our Myers’ Cocktail IV in Ao Nang
- Magnesium: a mineral involved in muscle and nerve function. You lose some through sweat.
- Calcium: works alongside magnesium in muscles and nerves.
- B-complex and B12: B vitamins your body uses to turn food into energy.
- Vitamin C: an antioxidant vitamin.
- Hydrating base: sterile fluid that carries everything in and helps you rehydrate.

Before the drip, the nurse runs a short health screening and may adjust the formula to suit you.
Who books a Myers’ Cocktail in Krabi
- Climbers: a long day on the limestone walls at Railay and Tonsai in the heat is hard on the body. Our Railay IV drip page explains how we reach you there by longtail boat.
- Divers and snorkellers: after early starts, hours on a boat and plenty of sun.
- Active travellers: kayaking, hiking viewpoints, Muay Thai training or running in humid weather.
- Tired travellers: midway through a long trip, after a few late nights or a busy schedule.

Many people say they feel refreshed and well hydrated afterwards. To be honest with you about the evidence, the Merck Manual says there isn’t enough scientific evidence that IV vitamin therapy treats any disease. We offer the Myers’ Cocktail as hydration and nutrient support, not as a treatment for any condition.
What to expect
The nurse checks your health, medicines and allergies, and takes your blood pressure and pulse. A small cannula goes into a vein in your hand or arm, with a quick sharp scratch. Then you relax for about 45 minutes while the nurse stays with you.

Magnesium can cause a brief warm or flushed feeling as it goes in. Tell the nurse and they’ll slow the drip. A small bruise afterwards is common and fades in a few days.
Price
Our current price and duration are shown at the top of this page. You can compare it with our other drips on our drip menu and prices. We give an itemised receipt after treatment.
Who shouldn’t have this drip
The nurse may decline or postpone your drip, or ask you to check with your doctor first, if you:
- Have kidney disease, heart disease or a heart rhythm problem
- Have high or low blood pressure
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Take blood pressure medicines, heart medicines or certain antibiotics
- Have had a reaction to IV vitamins before
When to go to hospital instead
A drip isn’t emergency care. Go to hospital, or call 1669, if you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, confusion, a high fever, or a climbing or diving injury, including any symptoms after diving such as joint pain, numbness or breathing problems. The nearest hospitals are Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang, Bangkok Hospital Krabi and Krabi Hospital.

Frequently asked questions
Can I climb or dive after a Myers’ Cocktail?
Most people carry on with their day afterwards. Ask the nurse about your plans during screening. If you’re diving, follow your dive centre’s advice on fitness to dive.
How long does it take?
About 45 minutes for the drip, plus a few minutes for the health screening beforehand.
Can you come to my hotel or bungalow?
Yes. We visit hotels, villas and bungalows across our service area, including Railay. Book a drip online or message us on WhatsApp, and we’ll confirm timing when you get in touch.
Is the Myers’ Cocktail the same everywhere?
No. Recipes and doses vary between clinics. Ours contains magnesium, calcium, B-complex, B12 and vitamin C in a hydrating base, and the nurse may adjust it after screening.
