Hangover Rescue is our hangover IV drip in Ao Nang, for the morning after a late night on the beach or a long day of buckets in the sun. It replaces the fluids and salts you’ve lost and can include medicine for nausea and headache, so you can get back to your holiday sooner.

A registered nurse gives every drip, either at our clinic or at your hotel, villa or bungalow anywhere in our area.

Who our hangover IV drip in Ao Nang is for

Hangover Rescue suits healthy adults who feel rough after drinking and want to recover faster than water and painkillers alone allow. It’s most useful when you have:

  • A pounding headache and a dry mouth
  • Nausea, or you can’t face food or drink
  • Tiredness, dizziness or that drained, washed-out feeling
  • A boat trip, dive or flight later in the day that you don’t want to miss

Heat makes a hangover in Krabi harder than one at home, because sweating in the sun on top of alcohol leaves you more dehydrated.

What’s in the bag

Each Hangover Rescue drip contains:

  • Saline, 1,000 ml: a full litre of fluid to rehydrate you
  • Electrolytes: to replace the salts lost through sweating, alcohol and vomiting
  • B-complex vitamins: often low after heavy drinking
  • Vitamin C
  • Anti-nausea and pain relief medication: added only if the nurse assesses that you need them

Before anything goes in, the nurse runs a short health screening. They ask about your symptoms, medical history, regular medicines and allergies, and check your blood pressure and pulse. They may adjust the formula to suit you.

How fast you’ll feel better

The drip itself takes about 45 minutes. Many people notice the nausea and headache easing during the drip or soon after, as the fluids and medication take effect. Others feel the difference more gradually over the next few hours.

We can’t promise how quickly you’ll recover, because it depends on how much you drank, how much you slept and how dehydrated you were to begin with. A drip helps with dehydration, nausea and headache. It doesn’t remove alcohol from your body any faster or repair the effects of heavy drinking, so rest, food and water still matter afterwards.

Clinic or hotel visit?

You get the same drip either way. Choose whichever is easier:

  • At the clinic: a quiet, air-conditioned room close to the beach. Good if you’re well enough to walk or take a short taxi.
  • At your hotel: the nurse comes to you, which is ideal if you can’t face leaving bed or several friends need a drip together. Read how our IV drip hotel visits in Krabi work, including the areas we cover.

The price and duration are shown on this page. To arrange a drip, use the booking form or message us on WhatsApp and tell us where you are.

When not to have a hangover drip

A drip isn’t right for everyone. The nurse will decline or postpone treatment if you are still drunk, are pregnant, or have heart or kidney problems, or if your symptoms suggest something more serious than a hangover. Tell the nurse about any medicines you take, including recreational drugs, so they can give you safe advice.

Go to hospital instead, or call 1669 for an ambulance, if you or a friend has:

  • Confusion, slurred speech that doesn’t improve, or is hard to wake up
  • Slow or irregular breathing, seizures or fainting
  • Vomiting that won’t stop, or blood in vomit
  • Chest pain, a severe headache or a head injury from a fall
  • Possibly taken a spiked drink or mixed alcohol with other drugs

These can be signs of alcohol poisoning or another emergency. The nearest hospitals are Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang, Bangkok Hospital Krabi and Krabi Hospital (government). The NHS explains the warning signs of alcohol poisoning.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still do my boat trip after a hangover drip?

Most people can. If you feel steady after the drip, an island-hopping or snorkelling trip later in the day is usually fine. Keep the plaster on for an hour or so, drink plenty of water on the boat, and don’t push yourself if you still feel dizzy. Ask the nurse if you’re unsure.

Can I drink again tonight?

You can, but your body is still recovering. If you do, go slowly, alternate each drink with water, eat a proper meal first and stay out of the midday sun. A drip doesn’t protect you from another hangover tomorrow.

Is this a hangover cure for Ao Nang nights out?

No drip can promise that. Hangover Rescue helps with the dehydration, nausea and headache that make a hangover miserable, and many guests feel much better afterwards. Rest and food are still part of recovery.

Can my friends have a drip at the same time?

Yes, groups often book hotel visits together. Each person has their own health screening first, and the nurse may suggest a different drip for someone, such as Island Hydration if they mainly need fluids.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. You pay after your treatment, by cash, Thai QR/PromptPay or card, and we give you a receipt. Most travel insurance doesn’t cover hangover treatment, but check your policy if you’re unsure. Our guide to whether travel insurance covers IV drips explains how claims work.
