Staying on Nopparat Thara and need an IV drip? You’re right next door to Ao Nang, so a registered nurse from IV Drip Ao Nang can come to your room, or you can make the short trip to our clinic. Either way you get the same nurse-led drips, health screening and sterile single-use kits.
A beach inside a national park
Nopparat Thara is the long, quiet beach that carries on north-west from Ao Nang. It sits within a marine national park, set up in 1983, that also takes in the islands offshore. That’s why it feels so much greener and less built up than its neighbour. The beach itself is free and open to everyone.

Tall casuarina trees line the beach and give real shade for most of the day, with a grove near the park headquarters at the far end. At a good low tide the sea retreats hundreds of metres, leaving a sandbar you can walk out on towards the small offshore islets. Where the canal meets the sea is the Khlong Haeng pier, the starting point for many island and day trips.
The pier end is around 4 km from central Ao Nang, according to this local beach guide, so the whole beach is a short drive from central Ao Nang.
Where people stay
Very little here is right on the sand. Most places sit across the beach road, and they tend to be:

- Mid-range resorts at the Ao Nang end of the beach
- Small guesthouses and bungalow-style hotels
- Holiday rentals and condos a little inland
- A campsite and simple park bungalows at the national park headquarters
It’s popular with families and couples who want a calmer base, and on weekends with Thai visitors picnicking under the trees.
Why guests book an IV drip in Nopparat Thara
The trees give shade on the beach, but there’s none out on the sandbar or on a boat from the pier. A low-tide walk or a long island trip in the sun can easily leave you dehydrated. Other guests have had a late night in Ao Nang and want to recover somewhere quiet.

Popular choices are Hangover Rescue, Island Hydration and Jet Lag Reset. Read how our hotel visits in Krabi work, or book a drip.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can a nurse reach me in Nopparat Thara?
Nopparat Thara is one of the closest areas to our clinic, but timing depends on traffic and how busy the day is. Send us your hotel name and we’ll give you a realistic arrival time before you confirm.
Can I come to your clinic instead?
Yes, if you feel well enough. Message us and we’ll tell you the easiest way to reach the clinic from your hotel. If you feel rough, a hotel visit saves you the trip.
Can you come to a small guesthouse or bungalow?
Yes. We visit guesthouses, bungalows and rentals as well as resorts. All you need is somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down.
Should I time my drip around the tide?
There’s no medical reason to, but if you plan to walk the sandbar at low tide, having your drip afterwards is a good way to rehydrate after time in the sun.
What if I’m seriously unwell?
A drip isn’t emergency care. For chest pain, trouble breathing, confusion or a very high fever, call 1669. The nearest hospitals are Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang, Bangkok Hospital Krabi and Krabi Hospital.
Ready to feel better?
